wowbagBags, Mules and Banks Oh My

It is time to make a mule. In MMORPGs (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games) a mule is not the offspring of a male donkey and a female horse. No this mule is simply your slave, your banker and your auction house representative. So leave the game and make a character from the same side of the conflict. You can't very well send things to yourself if you are Undead and your mule is a Gnome. It does not matter what race or class your mule is as this character is simply going to be the one you use to do your dirty work. Send some money over to this mule, in fact send over every spare bit of money you can and then take this mule to the bank and buy up a couple of the cheap bank slots, take the mule to the auction house and buy some bags for him/her and the bank slots and finally go and pick up one trade skill, enchanting.

While it is true that I mentioned how much it costs to raise your enchanting skill, your mule will not be enchanting, instead they will use the skill disenchant to get rid of items that will not sell and turn those items into essences and shards that enchanters will buy from you. Giving you a second shot with some of those old items. Instead of once again dumping them on a vendor if it is not selling you can turn them into trade skill items that other players desire.

So why a mule? why is this step so important? How much money is spent taking the griffin either to the major city or to go back to where you want to hunt and quest? How much time is lost to take those rides? Have you ever shopped impulsively? Purchased something you did not intend and then suffer guilt over it? Yeah I have and I bet at some point you have as well. Having your own mule that holds all of your items and holds all of your cash makes it a little harder to go out and just randomly purchase things you do not need, it helps when you are tempted to buy something you know you do not need. Whenever my mule made cash, I would send only 5-10 gold over to my main character to handle repairs or needed supplies.

The ideal thing you are looking to do is to go out and play, hunt and gather and when your bags get full you will go back to the nearest town and mail everything that is not gray to your mule.

Later on you will log in your mule, empty out your mail, list all the items on the auction house. Even if you do not have a full stack of an item go ahead and mail it over right away. Eventually you will have full stacks so just focus on emptying out all of your bags. You will log in later and retrieve these items for selling.

The bags in the bank are there for you to store items until you have a full stack. If you don't have mining and you find a couple of silver bars, go ahead and sell those off. If you have skinning though and you only have 14 medium leathers. Put them into the bank until you have a full stack of twenty. Players appreciate this more and tend to buy in bulk first before picking up the singles here and there.
