Duped

There are a few ways that if you exploit the game at the right times and under the right settings you can actually duplicate your money or items. The one that most people talk about is the Name Violation bug. You will have to have the timing of this down right for this to work. Create your character with a name that will most certainly get you reported. Something so incredibly vulgar that Blizzard has no choice but to change your name. You will be asked to log out and then log back in and change your name, the problem with this is that there is a 5 minute rollback done on your character.

If you can quickly give your money or items to a friend and then log out and then log back in, your character will be rolled back 5 minutes to the time when you had those items. So suddenly you now have double the money and two of whatever items you gave to your friend to hold for you.

Another dupe cheat is can be done in Alterac Valley only and only done with priests. The first priest mind controls a player and then breaks mind control, the 2nd player picks up the mind control immediately and the first priest will initiate a trade with the second priest. Normally you would receive a "player is busy" message, but not this time, not in Alterac Valley. Give that second player all of your gold. You will notice that while he received gold, yours remained. You have just duplicated the gold.

It is entirely possible that those two bugs are gone from the game, but you have the information.
