Farming Suggestions

In the last chapter we talked a little about how to farm and hunt. This chapter I tell you where and at what to farm. This listing is not a complete listing as players are finding new and elaborate ways to farm all the time. This should however get you started quickly.

wowlinen wowwool  wowsilk  wowmageweave  wowrune  wowfelcloth

Linen, Wool, Silk, Rune Cloth, Mageweave and Felcloth
- these cloths drop off humanoid mobs, they can be off of simple defias all over Westfall in the Mines and Moonbrook. On one server I can sell a stack of 20 for 30 silver and on another I can sell them for 50 silver. Either way they are a very common drop. For Alliance, Westfall is a level 11ish+ zone. There is a farm near the border with Elwynn Forest that has some defias and they will become more plentiful the further into zone you go. You will find the highest amounts of linen and wool cloth in Moonbrook and in the instance of the Deadmines. The Horde can hunt for their linen cloth off of the pirates, venture company and quilboar mobs in the Barrens zone.

The higher in level you find your humanoid bad guys the higher the quality of cloth they will drop. Always sell collect these and sell in stacks of twenty. If you are looking for Rune Cloth, you will find them on the undead in Western Plaguelands and Eastern Plaguelands in great quantities.

• wowlinen Linen Cloth - Westfall has one of the greatest concentration of these from defias.

• wowwool Wool Cloth - Deadmines seems to be the largest place to get this quickly.

• wowsilk Silk Cloth - Harpies in Thousand Needles and Scarlet Monastary

wowmageweave Mageweave - Tanaris and Deadwood Furbolgs in Felwood is your best bet.

• wowrune Rune Cloth - Furbolgs in Winterspring, Ogres in Deadwind pass are your options

wowfelcloth  Felcloth - Selling at 1.5 - 3 gold each, Felcloth can be looted from demons. You can find them in Dire Maul, Felwood and Azshara. I have seen the ones in Felwood overly camped you may want to try hunting in Azshara for a while to get these.

Stranglekelp - If you are a herbalist, get yourself near a body of water and look for this. It can sell easily between 3-4 gold a stack. The reason is that this is used in many potions that players use to level off of and the players in game believe this to be rare. You can find this all over the level 20'ish zones in the water.

Devilsaur Skin - In Un'goro crater live the massive Devilsaurs whose skins in stacks of 10 sell well. You will need to be level 60 if you want to solo these things on your own.

Incendosaur Scales - Deep in searing gorge are the Incendosaurs, the scales are dropped and you will not need your skinning skill to get them. They are used in Thorium Brotherhood reputation and players will clean out the Auction House to get enough of these if they are working on that reputation. You will be in your 50s to hunt these.

Rare Pets - Remember what I said about players buying clothing? They go really nuts over pets. From Lil' Timmy selling his kitten in Stormwind, Tiny Crimson Whelpling in Eastern Wetlands from the killing of Crimson, Red and Flamesnorting whelps, Tiny Emerald Whelpling in Swamp of Sorrows from killing Dreaming Whelps, to the very rare and elusive Hycinth McCaw dropped by Bloodsails in about 1 in 15,000 kills. While hunting for these pets, keep in mind you will probably be also skinning them if you have that skill. Bloodsails, because they are humanoid, will also drop cloths and occasionally equipment.

Spider's Silk - This item is very easy to farm while you are in your 20's. Spider silk drops off any of the larger spider's in game and there are plenty in Stonetalon mountains on the border with Ashenvale.

Black Diamonds - These items drop in Black Rock Depths and you can group and adventure in this instance when you are in your 50s. The black diamond is used in the libram enchants that players desire due to the nice fire resistance one. As fire resistance is crucial in instances such as Molten Core, this is a very desired item.

Deviate Fish - Remember what I said earlier about these? These are the fish that are used for that dish that will turn you into a ninja or a pirate. Players go nuts for this and as such they are a fantastic source of income. You can find them located through the various areas of water in game. Many say that they are very common in Wailing Caverns located over in the Barrens, that you do not have to actually go into the instance, just fish outside of it. If you can find water and you see a deviate fish pool then you can fish. No real level is needed, just your fishing skill.

Essences of Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Living and Undeath - These items are used in various recipes from different trade skills. Essence of Water for instance is used in a high level tailoring recipe called Hide of the Wild. A purple epic cloak that gives bonus to intelligence and healing ability. It takes 10 Essence of Water and 12 Living Essence (Which is created from Essence of Undeath), along with some other ingredients to make this. Undeath drops pretty common in Scholomance and in Stratholme instances which require you to be level 60. The other essences of Fire, Earth, Water and Air tend to drop the most off of the higher level elementals in game.

Here are some of the creatures in game that drop these essences.

• Essence of Earth - Lava Annihilator, Lava surger (Molten Core), Obsidian Elemental (Burning Steppes), Stone Guardian (Un'goro Crater)

• Essence of Fire - Fireguard (Blackrock Depth), Entropic Horror (Felwood), Blazing Invader (Un'Goro Crater)

• Essence of Air - Dust Stormer, Whirling Invader, Cyclone Warrior (Silithus)

• Essence of Water - Toxic Horror (Felwood), Blighted Surge, Plague Monstrosity (Eastern Plaguelands), Watery Invade (Winterspring)

• Living Essence - Fel Lash, Warpwood Treant, Warpwood Crusher (Felwood), Tar Lurker (Un'Goro Crater)

• Essence of Undeath - Plague Ghoul, Ghoul Ravener (Stratholme), Splintered Skeleton, Risen Warrior (Scholomance)

Larval Acid - These easily sell for 6-8 gold each and they drop off the Carrion Crawlers and Devourers in the plaguelands. They have about a 1 in 20 chance of dropping and these grubs are all over the zone making it a little easier to farm. You will not find one area being camped by someone else.
