1-6
Welcome to the playground, you start off in what other players
like to call the Newbie or Noob area. Don’t let that
terminology get to you, we were all there at one time. In a
very short amount of time you will have the grasp of the game
mechanics and you will begin to remember places and locations.
Then in the near future someone will ask for help and you will
have the knowledge to assist.
The Night Elves will start in Teldrassil in the small town, or
tree, of Shadowglen, Humans start at Northshire Abbey in Elwynn
Forest and both the Dwarves and Gnomes start in Coldridge
Valley in Dun Morogh.
The Undead start in Tirisfal Glades in the town of Deathknell,
The Trolls and Orcs in the Valley of Trials in Durotar and the
Tauren in Red Cloud Mesa over in Mulgore.
The areas I just mentioned do not have an advantage over
another, because of how fast you are going to gain experience
and levels there is no real reason for you to head out to
another town.
There are two ways to get through these levels, you can
either quest or you can just kill. At these early levels you
will gain experience faster if you ignore the quests and kill
everything that moves and simply do not stop. At this early
stage in the game, there are no instances and the gear you get
is never worth repairing. You will go through items so very
quickly, so do not worry about money so much right now. All you
want to do is go full throttle and kill and get all of the
quests out as fast as possible. If you can get to level 6
within an hour then you are on top of it already.
I tend to see most people leave these areas around level 5, but
I am going to suggest that you give yourself a few extra
minutes to reach level 6 before you move on. I have found in my
own experiences that when I begin the next leg of my game play
being simply 1 level ahead is an extreme help. Because you get
new abilities or spells at every even level you will be
entering the next area with an advantage over other players
whom leave a bit earlier.
If you decide that questing is how you want to level and you
want to take a more laid back approach, then might I suggest
that you grab all the quests you can and work on them all
together. There is no reason to run back and forth to the same
area over and over again, unless of course you prefer to play
that way.
